Britain’s largest gym chain has set up business in Maldon this month.

PureGym, which was originally based in Leeds, has gyms all over the country and plans to have 300 in operation by 2020.

The owners held an opening on Saturday, September 30, for the new gym that’s located at the Blackwater Retail park.

They celebrated alongside the Chairman of the Council while the ribbon was cut, officially making their mark in the town.

Gym Manager Nathan Carter said: “We are extremely excited to have opened a brand new PureGym.

“Our Local gyms fit into smaller spaces, which means we can bring affordable fitness into local communities.

“Every community is unique, and we design our gyms to suit the local area and member needs, with our pick of the best equipment.

“PureGym Maldon will be a fantastic addition to the current health and fitness facilities already on offer to the community and we aim to help inspire a healthier Maldon.”

The gym includes fitness classes and a team of Personal Trainers to inspire workout sessions.

Nathan added: “The club has a great, open-plan, state of the art functional training area.

“Functional training is all about training your whole body in specific movements that can help you move better in everyday life.

“We also have a large free weights area, a range of Matrix resistance and cardiovascular machines, a group exercise studio and stretching area along with a highly qualified team of local personal trainers there to help our members.

“Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, young or old, we will have something for you.

“Everybody is welcome.”
