A SUPERMARKET has shown its support for an Essex Crimestoppers charity campaign.
The campaign aims to help raise awareness of crime in the countryside by distributing informative leaflets throughout the district.
More than 3,000 information leaflets, which explain how people can play their part by speaking up against crime anonymously, were recently handed out in Tesco’s Fullbridge store.
Crimestoppers volunteer Colin Dobinson said: “We are very grateful to the Tesco team for supporting our campaign.
“Our goal is to help keep the countryside safer for all of us, so to have the chance to reach out to shoppers during their regular supermarket visit was a real bonus.
“In countryside communities, people tend to know who’s who and they may have important information about a crime but be reluctant to speak to the police.
“Crimestoppers enables the public to pass on that information 100 per cent anonymously, safe in the knowledge that they will never be identified.”
