An archaeological and historical group will be meeting next week to dig into the rich history of Maldon.
The group is active in many fields including excavation, geophysical surveys, historical research, excavations and publishing.
The group have also planned a 2019 excavation that will take place at Beeleigh Abbey, a monastery built in 1980 that boasts medieval Tudor architecture.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Are you interested in archaeology and history?
“New members are welcomed whatever their experience, newcomer to expert.”
The next meet-up will take place Wednesday September 25 at 7.00 pm.
