COMEDY fans in Danbury are in for a treat as one of Britain’s best talents is set to take to the stage.

Comic “powerhouse” John Moloney will be appearing at Danbury Comedy Club at the community centre off Main Road this Saturdayon September 21.

With a worthy CV including appearances at the Comedy Store in London and on TV’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Moloney, who has been nominated as Best Live Stand Up at the British Comedy Awards, is expected to leave the audience in stitches as he tops the bill in a bumper night of laughs.

A spokesman said: “He has twice won the Best Live Performer award at the London Comedy Festival and was nominated as Best Live Stand-Up at the British Comedy Awards.

“He is a world-travelled comedian, who has delighted thousands at festivals, theatres and clubs of all descriptions.

“From Melbourne to Edinburgh, from the prestigious Just For Laughs and Halifax Festivals in Canada to the Liffey Laughs in Dublin, John has been recognised as a true multi-award-winning comic talent.”

MC duties for the event will be handled by another award-winning comedian, Cal Donnelly.

He was Recipient of the prestigious Chortle Best Newcomer award in 2007 and has appeared on some of the country’s favourite comedy shows, including Mock The Week, Dave’s One Night Stand, Russell Howard’s Good News and Alan Davies – As Yet Untitled, Donnelly will provide the ideal support to John Moloney.

The show will also have a local feel to it, with an appearance being made by local lad Josh James, winner of Essex Comedian of the Year 2019.
