Maldon in Bloom has received a £500 donation from a corporate housing company that is set on transforming the town.

Taylor Wimpey, the company responsible for plans of over 1,400 new homes in Maldon, has funded a new planter for community- led project ‘Maldon in Bloom’.

Maldon in Bloom develops and maintains floral displays in the town, aiming to make the area more enjoyable for residents and visitors alike while also improving biodiversity.

Councillor Flo Shaughnessy, Mayor of Maldon, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this kind sponsorship.

“It will go towards the planting, watering and maintenance of the floral display.

“The work that Maldon in Bloom undertakes depends largely on fundraising and kind donations such as this one, so to be offered help to keep the town looking its best is just fantastic.”

The donation is part of the housebuilder’s commitment to giving back to the communities in which it builds its homes after a neighbourhood off Limebrook Way was given the go-ahead.
