Great Braxted’s bi-annual fete announced it's joining with the Carboot sale for the first time ever as organisers reach out for volunteers.

The popular event aims to make its return on Saturday 14 September to Braxted Pavillion on Tiptree road.

Bee Goody, Chair of the fete, said: “We have been so lucky with so many volunteers from the villages helping and giving up their spare time to ensure that the day is a great success.

“We need all hands-on deck on the morning to help us get set up and also require a large number of Marshall's who are able to work the entry gates, divert traffic and organise cars for parking.”

The fete first began in the gardens of Great Braxted residents and brings together the two villages of Great and Little Braxted.

Bee added: “We raise money to help improve the local community and bring families together for a traditional old-fashioned village Fete.

“This year we decided to open up half of the fete to the Carboot sale to bring residents from other local villages together.

“Our aim is to raise funds for a much-improved children’s play area which we hope will be used by many in the future.”

The day is supported by local businesses who donate to the event and residents who volunteer to help keep the event running.
