A Burnham-on-Crouch Air Force Cadet team are appealing to recruit new members.

The group, 2531 Burnham-on-Crouch Detached Flight, take on challenges across the country that teach them the basics they need for joining the Royal Air Force later in life.

They also take part in activities such as Duke of Edinburgh, Flying, Gliding, Camps, Archery, and Sports.

David Rawlings, who has been with the cadets for 84 years, said: "Various activities undertaken by cadets and the qualifications they can achieve including BTECs in Aviation Studies , Public Service and Music; First Aid qualifications, Duke of Edinburgh Awards up to Gold.

"There is also opportunities for Gliding and Flying Schoolarships as well as work experience on RAF Stations."

The squad are now calling for kids aged 12-17 to join their team.

Their next open evening will be on Thursday, September 26 from 07.45 pm to 09.30 pm at their Headquarters at Baptist Church Hall on Station Road.
