The government have released an official flood warning for Maldon following high spring tides.
The warning states there is a possibility that coastal roads and footpaths at the Hythe and Promenade at Maldon may see flooding between 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm today.
Other areas at risk include Clacton Promenade, Lee-over-Sands, Brightlingsea sea front, the Strood at Mersea Island, Coast Road and car parks on the front at West Mersea.
The government urge people to take care on coastal roads and footpaths and not to put yourself in unnecessary danger.
They will continue to monitor the situation and will reissue a message for any subsequent tides if required.
