A FILM club has revealed the line-up for the first half of its new season of movies.

Maldon Film Club begins its 15th season with the usual eclectic variety of domestic and international films, which are chosen by members of the group.

The club will meet at Maldon Town Hall on Tuesday evenings from September to December and Wednesday evenings from January to May.

From September 10 to December 17, the schedule for films will be: Green Book, Shoplifters, Isle of Dogs, The Guilty, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Cold War, Leave No Trace and Fisherman’s Friends.

A spokesman said: “Maldon Film Club’s 14th season was very successful and well supported.

“Of the 19 films screened, 12 received an approval rating of at least 70 per cent.

“Preparations are already in hand for our 15th season and this year’s programme is promising to be the best yet.

“The club works on a membership basis and is run by a committee that selects and screens an annual programme of 18 films from the best of recent English and foreign language releases plus one classic or members’ favourite which, for next season, is the much-loved A Taste of Honey.”

December 17 will also be the date for the first social of the season.

A full list of films is coming soon.

The price of an annual subscription is £25 which covers admission to all 19 films.

There are a limited number of places for junior members aged 16-18 in full-time education and training at the reduced cost of £18 and guests are welcome for just £3 per film.

Members are asked to give their reaction to the films they have seen and also help the committee compile the programme for the following season.

Doors open at 7.15 pm and the films start at 8pm.
