A NEW initiative has been launched to help people recovering from mental illness.
The Maldon Community Tree Initiative launched at the Tiptree Tea Room at The Lock in Heybridge Basin to support people who need help with their mental health and well-being, including depression, anxiety, debt and bereavement.
The initiative, which aims to produce supportive leaflets and a website, is not only aimed at people suffering seriously with mental health problems, but also for those who need extra support coping with their day-to-day lives.
Bob Boyce, chairman of Maldon District Council, said: “I hope the many helpful solutions on offer will go some way to easing the difficulties that some of our residents face from time to time in coping with the challenges of day-to-day life.
“We all need a little help sometimes.”
Leaflets will be available in libraries and GP surgeries.
