PETROLHEADS are in for a treat as the Maldon Motor Show rolls into Promenade Park this Sunday.

A huge number of vintage, classic and retro cars will be on display at the event, which runs from 10am to 5pm.

Colin Moles, of the Chelmer Valley Car Meet, is organising the eighth motoring extravaganza where more than 1,500 cars will be on display, including American models, as well as military and commercial vehicles, and motorbikes.

There will be familiar appearances from Del Boy and Mr Bean’s cars, as well as stands and craft stalls.

One of the main attractions will be the famous flying car from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang next to the Essex Search and Rescue stand.

There will be a vintage fair with tea rooms, and live music performed by the Kingsmen and Black Webb.

There are also musical appearances to be made by Maldon Big Sing Choir and the Burlesque Bombshells.

Organiser Colin Moles said: “It will be a great family day out set against the spectacular backdrop of the barges on Hythe Quay.”

Entry to the motor show is free.
