A CHARITABLE trust is encouraging community groups to apply for funding.
Essex Community Foundation wants voluntary organisations in the Dengie to apply for grants from the Tuncole Wind Farm and Middlewick Farm community benefit funds.
The funds were set up to support charitable projects in communities close to the wind farm developments.
Grants are available for projects that enhance the lives of residents and boost community activity.
Caroline Taylor, chief executive at ECF, said: “The panel members draw on their community knowledge to help us ensure that funding is channelled to where it is needed most.”
Past schemes included the Dengie Project Trust, which got £3,900 to run a befriending service for the elderly, the Stone Sailing Trust, which used £9,000 to replace the lower deck flooring of their clubhouse, and Maldon Community Voluntary Services, which used £29,000 to employ a community engagement co-ordinator over two years.
The deadline to apply is August 16. For details, visit essexcommunityfoundation.org.uk or call 01245 356018.
