A DRIVER who recently purchased a brand-new sports car has been described as “lucky” by local police after a collision remarkably only resulted in minor damage.

On Saturday evening a gleaming black Porche 911 was involved in a single vehicle road traffic collision on Lower Burnham Road.

Despite the incident, the owner’s newly acquired vehicle escaped with no significant damage and no one was reported to have been hurt or injured.

After Essex Police attended the scene, the Porche, which start at £93,000, was loaded on to a trailer and taken away.

Writing on Twitter alongside the photo of the car, Essex Police Chelmsford and Maldon LPT said: “A very lucky owner of a new Porche 911 who was involved in a single vehicle RTC on Lower Burnham Road this evening.

“Miraculously the vehicle only had minor damage! Please be mindful when driving, watch your speed and the road. On this occasion no one was hurt."
