The latest addition to Braintree Town's squad will have a familiar look and manager Glen Driver has joked that Iron fans will know what they are getting from his sixth signing.

Coming back for his second spell at Cressing Road, following a successful stint as part of Brad Quinton's side that earned promotion from Vanarama National League South in 2018, is Roman Michael-Percil.

Prior to coming to Braintree as one of Quinton's first signings in the summer of 2017, the right-sided winger was at Tottenham as a youngster, before spells with Billericay Town, Farnborough Town, Met. Police and Dulwich Hamlet.

Following promotion via the play-offs at Hampton & Richmond Borough in May 2018, he left Cressing Road to join National League South sides St Albans City and East Thurrock United before switching, in the new year to Isthmian League premier division side Merstham.

While with Merstham, he was part of their side that reached the Isthmian League play-off final.

Driver said: "I know Roman did well here as part of the side that won the play-offs and he reached a play-off final again last season with Merstham in the Isthmian League.

"Records show that he played 39 games and scored four goals here two years ago.

"Now 24, two years older and wiser, he's mobile and likes to get forward - we all know what we're getting."
