PARK run organisers have condemned incidents where some runners have been rude to volunteers.
The Maldon Prom parkrun team issued a statement on the matter and hopes it will not happen again.
A spokesman said: “Many of us feel very lucky to have developed friendships within the Maldon Prom parkrun community - in fact, we often refer to it as a parkrun family.
“Which makes what we need to say all the more unfortunate.
“Last week, there were a couple of incidents of park runners being rude to our volunteers.
“This is totally unacceptable.
“Our volunteers are part of the parkrun family and are there to ensure that everyone has a safe, happy run.
“Thankfully, this is an unusual occurrence and more often than not we get reports back from volunteers of how friendly and grateful ‘Prommers’ are.
“This week, please thank a volunteer and let’s hope there will not a repeat of this unsavoury behaviour.”
