The thousands raised at this year’s Walk For Life could save many lives.

The 600 walkers who took part in either of the two walks from Little Baddow and Heybridge should be appreciated as their will to take part will provide vital care for people with life-limiting illnesses.

It costs around £16,500 a day for Farleigh Hospice to provide care for its patients.

Although £52,500 sounds like a huge total, it would keep the the lights on Farleigh for just three-and-a-half days.

But those three-and-a-half days could be the difference between a person losing their life and having their lives extended.

This hospice and event means so much to so many, and the walkers should be recognised for their part.
