Hospital staff are taking part in a fundraising walk to raise money for Farleigh Hospice.

The staff from Mid Essex CCG is taking part in the hospice's Walk for Life which intends to raise funds to support people living with life limiting illnesses or those going through bereavement.

This Sunday, Walker can choose from two scenic routes to walk along the River Chelmer and Blackwater.

Casual strollers can choose to take on the 12km route from Paper Mill or a more challenging 24km route from Heybridge Basin.

A total of 15 members of staff from the NHS Live Well team will be taking on the first route.

Caroline Rassell, from Mid Essex CCG, who is always taking part in the Walk for Life, said: “We are all really excited about this challenge and we have been training hard, taking part in lunch time walks and using it as an opportunity to be more active whilst raising money for a worthwhile charity.

"Over the past year we have taken part in a number of fundraising events for Farleigh including Race for Business and Dodge Ball.

"It’s always great fun and we know all the money we raise will support those living with a life-limiting illness across Mid-Essex.”

Pre-registration for Farleigh’s annual Walk for Life has now closed, however participants can register on the day.

On the day registration is £25 per adult and £12.50 per child.
