A tea room is giving visitors the chance to sing and dance at their barn dance this month.

Mrs Salisbury’s Tea Rooms, in Maldon, will be holding its spring barn dance on Saturday, May 25.

Dancers can come along and learn the steps and enjoy a barbecue meal in the evening.

A spokesman for Mrs Salisbury’s said: “We’ve booked a fab barn dance band playing all of your favourites and they will bring a caller so you can learn the dances too.

“Set in a large marquee in the gardens of Bright’s Path with a fully licensed bar, people really don’t want to miss out on this one.”

Founded in 2014, Mrs Salisbury’s optimises the Great British tea room and is overflowing with traditional charm and character.

In May 2016, it was named the number one tea room in Essex thanks to praise on online reviewer TripAdvisor.

Last year, the tea rooms threw a royal wedding street party for the wedding of Harry and Meghan.

More than 110 people attended the afternoon tea which served cloudy lemonade, Pimms and scones.

Their most recent event included installing a winter igloo in November last year, transforming the tea rooms into a winter wonderland with bottomless brunch and festive afternoon tea.

Doors open at 7pm next Saturday and tickets are £25.

The event is for over 18s only and tickets are non-refundable.
