A fire crew has appealed to residents after a spate of break ins and vandalism at multiple stations.
Maldon Fire Station in Wycke Hill spoke out to residents after a number of fire stations have been broken into.
The stations also saw damaged caused to their fire engines.
The station in Maldon said that although it also is alarmed, residents must help if they hear a disturbance.
A spokesman said: "A number of local fire stations in Essex, were broken into this week with life saving equipment stolen.
"Along with damage caused to fire engines in the process, meaning they become unavailable to respond to 999 calls.
"Although all stations including ours are alarmed it doesn’t seem to deter these thieves.
"We would ask our neighbours to please call 101 if you ever hear our burglar alarm sounding or see anything suspicious around the station."
