A toddler group brought a ray of sunshine to a care home as they paid a visit to its elderly residents.

The little ones from Sounds Right Phonics in Maldon spent some time with the residents of Southminster Care Home in Station Road.

The group were brought round to the home in response to a request from the elderly residents, placed on the “wishing washing line” at Suzie’s Team Room in High Street, Maldon. The washing line informs the community of wishes the residents would love to see come true.

Lauren Youles, from the toddler group, said: “It was a very special day as we got to share the joy of Sounds Right with some of the residents of Southminster Care Home.

“It was such a lovely experience to be a part of.

“There was Play-Doh, instruments, bubbles and best of all there were lots of smiles.

“Thank you Southminster Care Home for letting us be part of their day, we look forward to coming back again soon.”
