A house was targeted by a suspected thief in the early hours.
The window of the house, in Swifts Boulevard, Heybridge, was wedged open, allowing the raider to get inside and search the property.
Officers found footprints on the windowsill and kitchen counter.
Nothing was stolen in the incident, which took place on March 26.
