THE Sound Collective Chorus should be commended for the experience they gave to eight care homes in just one day.

The Maldon choir performed before scores of residents on the day, giving them an opportunity to socialise and experience something different to their normal routine.

Sometimes life in a care home is considered isolated and elderly people can be at risk of being cut off from the rest of the community they have lived and worked in for most of their life.

An event such as this gives them a chance to break out from the norm, and bring them all together in the way that only music really can.

The dedication of the choir should be applauded.

It’s clear from the smiles of so many, they brought a ray of sunshine to those residents.
