COMMUNITY groups will now be able to benefit from a boost in funding thanks to Essex County Council.
The new-look community initiatives fund launched this month with the aim of bringing together a variety of grant schemes under one roof.
The £650,000 fund will be administered by the Essex Association of Local Councils over a two-year period.
Council leader David Finch said: “Even in times of extreme financial challenge we want to continue to invest in our local communities.
“I encourage individuals and groups who have a great idea to improve their local communities, and especially those who have not applied before, to make applications.”
Grants of up to £10,000 can be awarded for projects that benefit the wider community.
Micro-grants of up to £500 are also available throughout the year
