Plans to demolish a poultry farm to make way for a new business park, creating up to 100 jobs, could be approved next week.
Developers want to build a range of storage and business units at Mapledean Poultry Farm in Mundon.
Just two people are currently employed full-time on the site, but the new development could create a total of 100 jobs.
Despite being previously recommended for refusal, Maldon district councillors gave the plans the green light in principle at their last planning meeting.
Further plans to make improvements to surrounding bus stops and create a new footpath have been recommended for approval by planning officers.
A report said: “Following approval of this application at the last meeting and due to the complexity of the conditions in relation to this application, it has been considered pertinent that they are presented and agreed by members of the committee.”
A decision on the application is due to be made tonight.
