A SERIES of events for family carers to help them better understand dementia is being launched in the district.
The ‘Thinking Differently About Dementia’ family carers events will run throughout Essex until July.
The free events are designed for family carers and other unpaid people supporting people with dementia.
The workshop will teach carers how to spot common symptoms, overcome communication barriers and strategies to connect emotionally.
The first event will take place on May 13 at the South Woodham Ferrers Village Hall, in Hullbridge Road.
The second event is on May 21 at the West Maldon Community Centre in Sunbury Way.
Spaces at the workshops are limited to 20 people.
Organisers Dementia Adventure are dedicated to supporting people with the illness.
