ROCK stars paid a visit to a famous radio station to promote their first album release in 30 years.

British heavy metal legends Rock Goddess were on the River Blackwater aboard the Ross Revenge – home of Radio Caroline.

Band members Jody Turner, Julie Turner and Jenny Lane were joined by Cats in Space band members Greg Hart and Steevi Bacon.

The two bands, who are about to head out on a UK tour together, spent the day touring the ship and being interviewed.

Guitarist Jody Turner said: “This is quite an emotional trip. Radio Caroline is a big part of our rock and roll heritage.

“Pulling up beside the ship was awe-inspiring – a magnificent sight and love at first sight for me.

“It was a privilege to be aboard and be shown around, we learnt so much about her history.

“My mum always had Radio Caroline on at home. It’s part of my childhood – lump in the throat stuff.”

Rock Goddess found fame in the 80s and although still in their teens, they played at major festivals in the UK and across Europe, touring with bands such as Iron Maiden and Def Leppard.

The Rock Goddess album This Time comes out on March 1 with the tour starting on March 9.

Cats In Space’s album Daytrip To Narnia is set for release shortly.
