Woodham Ferrers and Bicknacre Parish Council have decided to construct a herb garden on the Bicknacre village green.
This is following the success of a similar garden in the Congregational Church grounds in Main Road, Woodham Ferrers.
Parish chairman June Saltmarsh said: “The parish council will be providing a few herbs initially.
“We are waiting for the correct planting time to add to the few herbs that are there at the moment.
“We are also going to repeat the exercise on the village green in Woodham Ferrers near Ormond’s Crescent.
“St. Mary’s C of E School in Woodham Ferrers has offered to be involved in this project.
“Both the greens have residents living within walking distance and our hope is that, over time, they will become community hubs around the tubs.”
