A teenager from the Dengie will be plunging thousands of feet to raise money for charity.
Lewis Leer, 17, of Grangewood Park Avenue, Burnham, is hoping to raise £500 by completing an eye-popping charity skydive for Cancer Research UK.
The travel clerk will take a 13,000ft leap at Beccles Airfield, in Suffolk, on June 28.
Lewis (pictured) said that the charity represents a cause close to his heart.
He said: “Cancer Research is close to my heart as six of my family members have been through cancer and some of them more than once.
“In order to thank the charity, I will be doing the skydive so that I can give them money so that they can keep doing what they do best and hopefully find a cure for this horrible disease.
“It will be my first time skydiving, but I’m not nervous because I know I’m doing it for a good cause.
“I have always wanted to do a skydive so I thought what better way than to do it for charity.
“People can also come and watch and any support will be a massive help.”
The skydive has already been paid for so all proceeds will be going to the charity.
Mr Leer added: “I am hoping for a couple of fundraising days.”
