AN award-winning film will be showing in Maldon next week.

The Maldon Film Club will be hosting a screening of the multi award-winning Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri next Wednesday at the town hall in Market Hill.

The film is about Mildred Hayes, played by Frances McDormand, whose daughter was murdered, and no culprit was found.

She decides to paint three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at the town’s revered chief of police, played by Woody Harrelson.

When his second in command, a violent and immature mother’s boy played by Sam Rockwell, gets involved, battle with Mildred is joined.

Doors will be open from 7.15pm for an 8pm start.

The current season of films runs until May 29.

New members will be able to join for £20 to watch the remaining films including showings of Faces Places, The Shape of Water, The Midwife, In Between and Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool.
