A pub invited more than 100 guests to celebrate its makeover.
The Anchor Pub, in Runsell Green, Danbury, has turned its conservatory into a garden room (pictured) which provides more space for customers.
Many punters who joined the opening party were members of the pub’s loyalty card scheme which began in April.
The team at the pub said the facelift, which took eleven weeks to build, has been well received.
A spokesman said: “The opening of our garden room on was a fantastic evening. We invited our loyal customers and suppliers to celebrate with us.
“The Anchor has been in our family for 18 years now and it was important for us to still keep the feel of a traditional pub as there are not many left.
“The architect liaised with English Heritage and the planning department to ensure the new build matches the existing building perfectly while also bringing the space up to date.
“Handmade roof tiles were sourced and the gable roof design mirrors the details from the original building.”
