COUNCIL bosses are inviting the public to have their say on what new activities should be brought to the district’s parks and open spaces in the new year.

Maldon District Council wants residents and organisations who want to bring events and activities to council-owned parks and public spaces to get in touch.

The council says thousands of visitors and tourists choose to spend their time in the Maldon district, which creates significant opportunities for new and existing businesses.

Council community services boss Bob Boyce said: “2018 was a record year for the council with huge events and hundreds of thousands of happy visitors.

“We always want to bring something new to the district and to our parks and open spaces.

“We are now looking for new partners for 2019 to bring new events, food offers, fun activities and shopping experiences to our parks, residents and visitors.

“If you want to reach thousands of new customers our team would like to hear from you.”

Opportunities exist across various parks and open spaces across the district, including Promenade Park, Riverside Park, Hythe Quay, Oak Tree Meadow and Elms Farm Park and more than 20 others.
