BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT will be in the hat for Monday’s FA Trophy draw after their third qualifying round showdown at Hayes and Yeading finished 0-0.

Tom Rothery’s side earned a replay back on home soil after a hard-fought stalemate at the Skyex Community Stadium.

The hosts played two thirds of the game with only ten men, following the early dismissal of Duncan Culley.

The experienced front man was red-carded for an alleged elbow on R’s skipper Matt Cripps.

Regent keeper James Bradbrook pulled off a great save to deny the hosts shortly before half-time.

At the other end, Billy Hunt fired wide as a tough contest finished goalless.

New signing Morisi Gelashvili was named on the bench after completing a move from Tilbury on Friday.

Hayes, in the Bostik League south central division play-off places, will visit the Taydal Stadium for a replay on Tuesday night.

In the meantime, both sides will go into the hat for Monday’s first-round draw, with the next batch of ties due to take place on Saturday, December 15.

An added incentive for winning the replay is prize money to the tune of £5,000.

Looking ahead, £6,000 is up for grabs for sides who win their first-round matches.

Meanwhile, Brightlingsea dipped to second from bottom in the premier division table after being leapfrogged by Harlow Town – 2-1 winners at Potters Bar Town.

Third-from-bottom Burgess Hill Town crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Corinthian Casuals.
