CLACTON Golf Club's men took part in the last weekend medal competition of 2018.

With fair weather and calm winds, there were some great scores to be had.

The division one winner, with a nett 67, was Lee Harmon.

In second place, on countback, was Colin Ross, with a nett 68, and third place went to Keith Sampson, also with a nett 68.

The division two winner, with a mindblowing nett 60, was Tommy Lee.

In second place was Peter Sweet, with a nett 67, and third place went to Dean Wiggins, with a nett 68.

Lee, who only two months back was playing off 25, has now been cut to an 18 handicap due to his recent performances.

Clacton's ladies played for the Jura Trophy (Jeff Sinnott Memorial).

Sue Carter won the trophy with 35 points.

In second place, with 32 points, was Denise Pink and third spot went to Julia Hewett, on countback from Lin Euston, both with 31 points.

Clacton held their annual Adult/Junior Cup.

An incredibly close finish saw the top three pairs all with 40 points.

On countback, the eventual winners were junior captain Jake Wells and club captain Alfie Smith.

In second place were Henry Goodwin and Sam Teer and third place went to Harvey Bell and Chay Robinson.
