RUTH Stapleton hosted her last special event as Harwich and Dovercourt Golf Club's lady captain - the Autumn Meeting.
In fine weather, club captain Keith Morris greeted the ladies on the first tee and wished them a good golfing day.
The format of the competition was a fourball better ball with high/low handicap partners being randomly drawn.
Glynis Hutchence has had a wonderfully successful year, whether playing individually or as part of a team, so it was no surprise she and partner Jane Hurst romped home in first place.
New member Kristina Matthews, partnered with Carol Wrayton, were second and Linda Burrows and Georgina Grout third.
Mary Allston took the prize for nearest the line and Jane Hurst won nearest the pin.
Following the presentation of prizes, Ruth Stapleton thanked the ladies, catering, bar and greens staff for their contributions throughout the year, without which she would not have had such a successful and enjoyable time as lady captain.
Elsewhere, Glynis Hutchence and Chris Bradford won the Newton Ward Trophy, Sue Keen the Rose Bowl, Georgina Grout Medal 13 and Kristina Matthews Medal 14/Breast Cancer Brooch.
