A COMMUNITY defibrillator has been installed in Heybridge.
The lifesaving device has been installed at Plantation Hall in the village, having been provided by the British Heart Foundation.
A defibrillator gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest to someone who is in cardiac arrest.
A spokesman for Heybridge Parish Council said: “The council are delighted to confirm they have installed a community defibrillator outside Plantation Hall.
“The council would like to thank Mr G Young for securing the defibrillator from The British Heart Foundation, and Lee Jiggins for all his assistance.”
The council plan to hold an opening ceremony for the device within the coming weeks.
