LOOKING AHEAD: Basildon United will be looking for a fifth home league win in succession when Bury Town visit the Ho Ho Stadium tomorrow.

The Bees dropped their first points of the season on Tuesday, drawing 1-1 at Brentwood Town in a match they really should have won.

Basildon remain a remarkable nine points clear after eight matches, boasting the best goal difference and having the meanest strike force.

The team have further been boosted by the news that duo Oli Spooner and Connor Wheatley have been selected for England C’s ambassadorial visit to the Falkland Islands.

Meanwhile, Bury occupy ninth spot in the league and were knocked out of the FA Trophy last weekend.

But the Suffolk side remain likely contenders for a play-off place in the eyes of many come next April.

MANAGER’S VIEW: “We are enjoying everything we do at the moment and that is a big message from inside the camp,” said boss Marc Harrison. “It’s a happy camp and we want to play football together.

“There were many positives to take from Tuesday’s draw at Brentwood and we know on another day we would have taken three points.

“Bury have a strong side and they are hard working. They will want a good early run of results but we want Basildon to be a hard place to come.”

TEAM NEWS: Reece Placid is suspended.
