MALDON has achieved gold in Anglia in Bloom awards for a fourth year running.
The Maldon in Bloom team won a gold award in the large town category at this year’s competition.
Four members of the team travelled to Bury St Edmunds where the ceremony was held.
Chairman Dorreen Linton said: “This is a fantastic result as it has been a particular difficult year for a small group of volunteers who gave their time to help.
“Everyone worked in extremely dry and hot conditions, giving a huge amount of time and effort to the campaign.
“Thanks must also go to the whole of the Maldon community.”
The Anglia in Bloom saw more than 100 entries from towns and villages from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Volunteers are now carrying out Autumn tidy up sessions and will be making plans for next year’s project.
