MALDON has the lowest number of people out of work in the whole of Essex.
Department of Work and Pensions figures have shown that Maldon district has 340 people claiming some form of benefits in August, a drop from 360 the month before.
This also marks a 61 per cent drop in unemployment since the economic crash of 2010.
A spokesman for DWP said: "There will be a full universal credit rollout in Chelmsford in December.
"Most Maldon customers will be going there."
Youth unemployment figures are also healthy.
Figures show that 70 young people aged 18 to 24 in the district are out of work, a 70 per cent drop from the figures a decade ago.
