DONNA Siggers and David Cooper are to be admired.
Their stories about tackling adversity and living life to the full are inspirational.
Both Donna and David show what can be achieved when you persevere even if the easy thing to do is give up.
For author Donna a terrible assault in 2014 left her with a serious head injury which still affects her daily life today.
She was unable to complete her degree and had to give up driving.
Instead of letting this determine the rest of her life, she took up writing to aid her recovery and her debut novel is now in line for a top prize.
David was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2013. He now uses a wheelchair as he lost control of the muscles in his legs.
But David is determined to raise awareness of the condition and is taking on three daring challenges in a matter of weeks.
Both David and Donna’s stories teach us the power of self-belief and not giving up when the going gets tough. It is a lesson we all could learn from.
