AN all-day charity event will be taking place in Heybridge this coming Sunday.

Hannah Chapman, 25, is putting on an event as a way of thanking the air ambulance team that helped save her life when a near-fatal tumour burst in her brain.

Hannah’s Charity Day will be at the Heybridge Swifts football club grounds at Scraley Road Stadium in Scraley Road from 11am to 5pm.

There will be bouncy castles, fairground rides and games as well as a raffle and cake sale.

There is also a barbeque planned and more than 20 stalls will be set up.

Ms Chapman said: “Without the help of Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, I would have lost my life instantly back in August, so I’m arranging Hannah’s Chairty Day in aid of this brilliant charity.

“My aim is to raise as much money as possible so that they can continue to save people’s lives.

“I would like to thank my sister Laura Janes for all her help.

“She has done so much for the day and for me.”

Ambulance crews flew Ms Chapman to Queen’s Hospital in Romford to undergo life-saving surgery.

The tumour was revealed to be cancerous and she was diagnosed with terminal skin cancer.

Ms Chapman has drawn up a bucket list of things she wants to do, including this event.

Entry to the event is £2 for adults and £1 for children.
