THE district’s new outdoor cinema business has announced its first Burnham screening.

The Essex Alfresco Cinema, set up earlier this year, will be screening musical sensation The Greatest Showman at Riverside Park on September 22.

Essex Alfresco Cinema is a new family and friend run business which has already had its first screening of Ghost earlier this month.

It was set up by Donna Burnham, of Southminster, who is the company’s director.

The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman, tells the story of P. T. Barnum and his creation of the circus in 1871.

It proved a smash hit with audiences after its release at Christmas and was chosen as Burnham’s first screening by a public poll.

The company will also show the film in Promenade Park in Maldon on August 31, as well as Beauty and the Beast on July 7. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for children.
