Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a robbery in Heybridge.
The incident happened at 8.20pm on Sunday, April 8, at the Co-op in Lawling Avenue.
A man went into the store armed with an axe and demanded cash and cigarettes before making off in a grey or blue vehicle described as like a Ford Mondeo.
No-one was injured.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We appreciate this is not the greatest picture but this was a serious incident and we need to speak to anyone who may have seen this man in the area in the time before or after the incident or if you have any other information about what happened."
