POLICE believe a series of burglaries in South Woodham Ferrers could be linked.

Homes in Middleton Row, Broughton Road, Littlecroft, Taffrail Gardens and Thornborough Avenue were targeted between January 30 and February 10.

Most of the incidents took place at night.

Goods including handbags, mobile phones and cash were stolen.

Burglars forced open doors which were not fully locked.

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with one of the burglaries in Taffrail Gardens overnight between February 9 and 10.

Det Con Rick Newton, of Chelmsford CID, said: “We believe these incidents may be linked due to the way entry was gained to each address.

“You can help protect your home by fully locking your doors with the key because simply closing the door and pushing the handle up won’t stop a burglar.

“Once you’ve locked it, take the key out and store it somewhere a safe distance from your door.

“If you have any information about any of these incidents, have seen something suspicious, have footage from a motion sensor camera or think someone has tried to tamper with your front door I need to speak to you.”

Anyone with information about any of the incidents should call at Chelmsford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
