A SOUTH Woodham Ferrers care home became home to two centenarians over Christmas as two residents celebrated their 100th birthdays.
Dolly Sully and Tom Chapman both live at Windle Court, in the Withywindle.
They celebrated their 100th birthdays last week, just days apart from each other, both receiving telegrams from the Queen to mark the day.
Dr John Cormack, from Greenwoods Surgery in the town, visited them on the day.
He said: “They are doing very well and are clearly made of good material.
“Dolly is very cheery and chatty and has a lovely manner, and Tom has got a lovely smile.
“The latest figures show that our patients are living longer, but I can’t claim any credit for keeping this pair alive for so long, they’re both powered by Duracell.”
