THREE men have been arrested following a spate of burglaries in the district.
Essec Police confirmed that two sets of males had been arrested on charges of burglaries from homes in the area.
An 18-year-old from Romford has been charged with five burglaries that occured in May 2017.
Homes in Purleigh, Althorne, Burnham, East Hanningfield and South Hanningfield were robbed.
A 25-year-old and an 18-year-old from London were also arrested in connection with three burlaries on July 26, in Althorne, Steeple and Brock Hill Runwell.
A spokesman for Essex Police: "After some painstaking investigations in CID, the CPS have recently authorised charges against two sets of males for house burglaries in our area.
"All of these are currently in prison on remand.
"They join a 23yr old from Southminster who was recently charged with one burglary in Burnham.
"Investigations are continuing on this male."
