A TATTOO artist from Mayland has joined the nationwide movement to help raise funds for victims of the Manchester terrorist attack.

Terry Coker, 46, runs his tattoo parlour Cobra Custom Tattoos in Mayland, and has now begun tattooing the Manchester worker bee for customers, with all proceeds going towards the victims of the terrorist attack.

22 people were killed and scores more seriously injured after a bomb was detonated at Manchester Arena on May 22.

The bee is a symbol of Manchester’s industrial past and people across the city got bee tattoos in the wake of the attack to show their solidarity with the victims.

Since the attack this has inspired many other tattoo artists across the country to offer the bee.

Terry has run his parlour in Mayland for more than five years and offers a wide range of styles, with this venture joining the line of many other charity works he has previously done.

Terry said: “I heard about the bee tattoo being done and was approached by one of my clients to have one done and charity has always been something I like to be involved in and over the years.

“I’ve tattooed at the top of Ben Nevis, walked 26 miles for Great Ormand St Hospital among a few others so I thought this would be a great thing to do as the ball is already rolling with the bee tattoo idea, I’m a tattoo artist so why not?

“Once I did the one and posted it up on Facebook and explaining that all proceeds go straight to the Manchester charity I was inundated with requests to do more which I’m happy to do for free and supply the materials to produce them.

“If anybody would like to have one done they can contact my wife Rita who deals with all my tattoo appointments on 07904816513 or through our Facebook page. It’s a small gesture and hope we get a good response so the charity benefits from it, every little helps as they say.”
