TWO people were rushed to hospital following a serious crash in Althorne.

Police, fire, and ambulance crews all attended the scene of the crash, after a car collided with a tree on Burnham Road, Althorne.

The collision happened just after 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

Both the driver and the passenger were treated by ambulance crews on the scene and later taken to Broomfield Hospital to receive further treatment.

The ambulance crews, who were first on scene, called in police and fire crews to help deal with the situation.

One victim of the crash, the driver, was trapped in the car and had to be cut out by the fire service.
