RESIDENTS flocked to a church’s festive festival.

The Christmas Tree Festival was held at Burnham’s United Reformed Church, on Station Road, across the weekend.

There were 33 illuminated trees of all shapes and sizes on display from the switch-on on Friday until the closing of the festival with Sunday worship.

The hugely successful event included live music, a Christmas sale, a nativity dressing up stable, and a visit from Father Christmas.

For the first time, the annual event also included ‘The Road to Bethlehem’. Five colourful scenes, made up of 300 candles, were lit by younger visitors to add another element to the seasonal celebration.

The church said it was grateful for the support of Burnham organisations, individuals and groups in creating so many artistic and inventive trees.

The festival helped the church raise £1,300.
