PUPILS, parents and staff of a Burnham school dressed up to celebrate the 100th birthday of Roald Dahl.
Tuesday would have been the beloved author’s milestone and to celebrate, children, teachers and PTA staff at the St Mary’s Primary School, on Marsh Road, dressed up as their favourite characters.
Costumes came from the likes of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, The Witches and James and the Giant Peach.
Burnham town mayor Ron Pratt attended the day. He said: “St Mary’s school in Burnham have had a whole day where class by class, they have been dressed up as characters from Roald Dahl’s books, because it would have been his 100th birthday today.
“All the children had a great time, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so did all of the adults as well. They all made dream catchers out of jam jars, and when they were finished put a wish inside them like in The BFG.”
