BURNHAM Art Trail has been hailed a grand success as it returned to the town for its twelfth year.

From Saturday June 25 to Sunday July 3, artists took over Burnham as handcrafted hunting flapped in the wind and visitors collected unique artist buntings from the ten open studios and on site museum.

A popular attraction this year was the retrospective exhibition of work by the late Geoffrey Wickham at his home and studio, as it had to have its opening extended due to overwhelming demand. Visitors commented on the diversity and quality of the artworks on show, one commented that it was like having their own Tate Gallery in town.

The art trail drew approximately 500 visitors to the museum alone, many from outside the local area from places as such as Alburgh, Norfolk and Wellington, New Zealand. Comments included “very inspiring and wonderful selection” and a “wonderful creative experience”.

Countless families as well as commuters had fun posing in the ‘famous painting’ photo booths at the Burnham Station House studios, and on the final Sunday many enjoyed Art on the Quay, a pop-up art attraction which enabled visitors to interact with art trail artists and watch Sue Spiers painting en plain air.
